Yi-Hsuan Rachel Lin graduated summa cum laude from Southwestern Law School, where she focused her studies on civil litigation. She not only took courses related to civil litigation, but also interned and externed in places where she could gain practical experience in litigation. Ms. Lin served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Goodwin Liu at the California Supreme Court in the fall of 2014, a legal extern at the ACLU of Southern California in the spring of 2014, and a judicial extern to the Honorable Dean Pregerson at the Central District Court of California in the summer of 2013.

Ms. Lin has a keen interest in legal research and writing. While in law school, Ms. Lin was a member of the Southwestern Moot Court Honors Program. She, as the brief writer, along with two other team members, as oralists, represented Southwestern Law School to compete in the Bryant-Moore Civil Rights Moot Court Competition and received the Best Brief Award and Best Overall Team Award. Before law school, Ms. Lin worked as a paralegal in a civil litigation law firm for 7 years, which experience inspired her to earn a juris doctor degree.

In her free time, Ms. Lin enjoys tending to her vegetable garden and video-chatting with her niece and nephew, who reside in Taiwan. Ms. Lin also volunteers as a dog-walker at a local animal shelter.
